Pam North Gilpin County The Central City Council held their regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall on November 17, 2009. All Council members present: Mayor Ron Slinger, Aldermen Ron Engels, Bob Giancola, Bob Spain, and Tom Reilly. Also present were City Manager Lynnette Hailey, and Recording Secretary Phyllis Adams. No additions and/or amendments to the agenda or conflicts of interest were reported. Regular Bill Lists of November 5 and 12, 2009; City Council minutes for November 3, 2009; October 2009 Financial Report; and HPC minutes for September 9, 2009 were all unanimously approved. Under Action Items: Unfinished Business, a Fifth Amendment to Intergovernmental Agreement between City of Central and the Black Hawk Transportation Authority for 2010 Tram Service @ $414,999.06, was unanimously approved. This agreement provides continuing tram service to Central City 7 days a week: Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., and Friday through Sunday and all holidays from 10:00 a.m to 3:30 a.m., with 20 to 40 minute frequency stops (20 minutes during peak hours, and up to 40 minutes on off-peak hours). Under Action Items: New Business, Resolution 11-09, setting forth the terms of the purchase of 103 Eureka Street for $185,000, plus half the closing costs, was unanimously approved. The City has been discussing the purchase of this property with the property owner. J.D. Carelli, since early this year. City Council members toured the property, and on final review decided it would be a good location for the City's Visitor Center. Closing will be on November 30, 2009, with $50,000 at closing, and the balance paid by March1, 2010. City Manager Lynnette Hailey reported that the budget hearing for 2010 will precede the regular meeting on December 1, 2009, and that a work session on medical marijuana dispensaries will take place on December 10, 2009. The meeting was adjourned at 7:11 p.m. The next Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. |
